Alumni Interviews

We have over 72,000 alumni, many of whom are eager to interview you in your hometown. Alumni interviews are available from October to February. We encourage you to talk with a member of the Carnegie Mellon Admission Council (CMAC).

The Carnegie Mellon Admission Council (CMAC) is an organization of nearly 1,000 Carnegie Mellon alumni, who volunteer with the Office of Admission to help attract and enroll prospective students. CMAC's membership includes alumni from the United States, its territories and several foreign countries. If you can't interview with a member of the admission staff on campus or in your hometown, you'll find an alumni interview to be a very valuable experience.

The CMAC Mission

  • Work within the scope of the mission of the Office of Admission and the university
  • Participate in and coordinate activities for prospective students who are interested in Carnegie Mellon
  • Act as a liaison between prospective students and the university
  • Help prospective students understand the nature of Carnegie Mellon and whether or not the university is a good match for their academic and social interests

Contacting a CMAC Representative

Alumni interviews are available from October 1, 2009 until February 1, 2010. To set up an interview with an alumni volunteer, please view the Alumni Interviewers Directory for your state or country.
