Housing & Dining

All first-year students are required to live in university housing. Housing Services guarantees housing for all four years if you remain in the university housing system, which about 75% of students do. There is a variety of housing options with various amenities available, including laundry facilities in some residence halls.

Facts about Carnegie Mellon Housing:

• Carnegie Mellon owns 25 resident halls and apartments on and off campus
• Different housing options, like standard, prime suite-style and special interest, are available
• All resident halls contain wireless internet
• Greek Housing is available for members within the Greek community

 

All first-year students are also required to have a meal plan. Dining Services offers several meal options to choose from that can be used at various locations both on- and off-campus.

• Students can dine on-campus in coffee shops, delis, cafeterias and other eateries
• Plaid plans for first-year students include blocks and Flex Dollars
• Carnegie Mellon Dining offers special diet and nutritional needs for students
