Building Virtual Worlds

Denise, Tour Guide
Spring 2006

Last semester, my roommate who is an Information Systems major began taking this course with the Entertainment Technology Center. She was teamed with students from all different academic departments and was given the task of creating a "virtual world." Even though they only had three weeks to create the game, I think they did a great job! Take a look for yourself...

Solar Decathlon

Alex, Making Student Connections Ambassador
Fall 2005

On my way back from class one day, I finally decided to find out what was going on. Almost every day this week there was a large group of students hauling wood and other supplies onto the lawn between Donner and Resnick - two residence halls on campus. It turns out that they are one of 18 teams that will compete in a Solar Decathlon competition held by the Department of Energy. Their challenge is to create a house that maximizes useable space, producing a structure conducive to densely populated metropolitan areas. I really hope all of their hard work pays off and they can bring home a victory.
