Speak to Students

Anxious to hear what current students have to say about Carnegie Mellon? Make a "student connection" with one of our students!

Talk to a current student who shares your academic or social interests. You can make a student connection by email, telephone, online chat, electronic message boards or snail mail.

Your conversation topics can be about anything — academics, social life, clubs and activities, food, the weather in Pittsburgh — whatever is on your mind. While the students are employed for the Office of Admission, they will give you an honest opinion about admission, academics and campus life based on their own experiences. No question is too big or too small!

By Online Chats

Online chats are held daily with current students throughout the year.

Browse the profiles of our Virtual Student Ambassadors and find a student with whom you'd like to chat, add him or her to your buddy list and begin chatting

The majority of our are chats that are open to all prospective students. In the spring, our admission counselors will host chats exclusively for admitted students. Be sure to keep an eye out for other upcoming specialized chats.

Another great tool for getting to know your future classmates is by posting to our electronic message boards. Raise topics for discussion, discover common interests and make a connection with other students. Create a personalized login account by clicking the link above.

Please note that the Office of Admission does not participate in any other electronic message board. This is the only university approved discussion forum.
