There are various resources available on campus and in the local community specifically designed to help women. Whether you’re seeking information regarding academics, health or personal issues, there are people ready to help. Below is a sample of some of the available resources.

Academic Development

Academic Development offers academic counseling in skills such as textbook reading, lecture note-taking, time management and preparation for examinations, as well as peer tutoring and supplemental instruction in traditionally difficult courses.
Career Center

The Career Center offers career exploration, campus employment, summer jobs, community service, internships, the job search process, campus recruiting via the university’s online system, resume referrals, a Web-based resume, networking and interviewing service, alumni career services, plus career and graduate school counseling.
Gender Issues Internships

Each year the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs hires two students to work as Gender Issues Interns. The interns are responsible for coordinating the Sexual Assault Advisors Program (which includes both outreach educational programs on sexual assault issues and overseeing selection and training for new advisors); for chairing the planning committee for Mosaic, Carnegie Mellon's annual conference on women's issues; for coordinating women's history month events; and other outreach education programs dealing with gender issues on campus.
Women’s Center

The Carnegie Mellon Women’s Center has an important role in identifying and addressing the problems, needs and goals of women on campus and in the larger community. The center provides information, educational programs, community service, support and entertainment regarding a broad range of issues and concerns that profoundly affect women's lives.
Student Health Services

Student Health Services is located on campus and is open six days a week. The staff includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses, a registered dietitian, a health educator, a physician assistant and a physician available on campus usually once a week. Health Services offers basic services (similar to those offered in a doctor’s office), counseling, nutrition, immunization, health insurance and a program for women’s health.
