Alumni Interviews
We have over 72,000 alumni, many of whom are eager to interview you in your hometown. Alumni interviews are available from August to February. We encourage you to talk with a member of the Carnegie Mellon Admission Council (CMAC).
The Carnegie Mellon Admission Council (CMAC) is an organization of nearly 1,000 Carnegie Mellon alumni, who volunteer with the Office of Admission to help attract and enroll prospective students. CMAC's membership includes alumni from the United States, its territories and several foreign countries. If you can't interview with a member of the admission staff on campus or in your hometown, you'll find an alumni interview to be a very valuable experience.
The CMAC Mission
- Work within the scope of the mission of the Office of Admission and the university
- Participate in and coordinate activities for prospective students who are interested in Carnegie Mellon
- Act as a liaison between prospective students and the university
- Help prospective students understand the nature of Carnegie Mellon and whether or not the university is a good match for their academic and social interests
Contacting a CMAC Representative
In order to contact a CMAC representative please follow the directions below before viewing the Interviewers Directory. Prospective students typically will contact the members of CMAC in order to conduct an alumni interview as a part of the admission process. However, you may also contact a member if you simply have questions about the university.
- Browse the Interviewer's Directory to locate alumni in your area.
- Complete your alumni interview by February 1, 2008 at the latest. Contact an alumnus in your area well in advance of this deadline to schedule your interview.
- Ask as many questions as you like and let us know how your alumni connection went. We want to hear from you!
Admitted students are also encouraged to contact alumni representatives if they have questions. Interested students should call the Office of Admission for alumni contact information.
