Why Carnegie Mellon? I first came to Carnegie Mellon during the summer of my senior year, the Pre-College program convinced me that would be a great match! How did you choose your major? I chose Computer Science a long time ago. I enjoy using computers to solve problems, so Computer Science was a natural choice. Do you live on- or off-campus? I live off-campus, I get my own room, a kitchen, laundry, and a place to park my car. What do you do for fun during the week, in addition to your homework? I fill my spare time with the History channel and working on my car. I also really like going to the Waterfront with friends or to Oakland for half-price meals after 11 PM. Are you involved in any campus organizations? I am a part of the Computer Club, previously I was in the Robotics Club. Are you planning to work on any research/internships? I got a grant to optimize Open SSH as part of the University Research Program for $80,000. For the next year I get to make improvements to it and get paid! What are your plans after graduation? I would like to do Computer Security Research and consulting. What is your favorite memory of Carnegie Mellon, so far? Carnival is the best time of every year. Are there any fun traditions that you want future Carnegie Mellon students to follow? Guard the fence through a cold winter night. If there was one thing you could tell a prospective student about Carnegie Mellon, what would it be? Never fall behind in your work.
