Tour Campus

We invite you to join us for one of our four daily (Monday – Friday) campus tours led by our Admission Assistants (current students who are eager to answer your questions about Carnegie Mellon and Pittsburgh).

Enjoy an engaging walking tour that, over the course of an hour, provides a general overview of Carnegie Mellon complete with interesting facts, figures and historical tidbits about the university. Because the campus tour is a broader look at Carnegie Mellon, we encourage tour participants to return to points of interest on campus once the tour has concluded for a more up close and personal look at specific stops.

Campus Tours

  • Available Monday through Friday (except during university holidays, semester breaks and finals testing).
  • Depart four times a day: 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
  • Confirm tour availability before scheduling your visit by calling our office at 412-268-2082.

Please call the Office of Admission directly or complete the online registration process to secure the date/time of your choice. We also encourage you to take the Walking Tour and Virtual Tour of Carnegie Mellon from the comfort of your own home prior to coming to campus.

School of Drama

Drama School tours are offered Monday through Friday by reservation only. To reserve a space please contact Jennifer Chapman at 412-268-1581 or by emailing jenc@andrew.cmu.edu. Tours are not guaranteed without a reservation.

Because of the sensitive nature of many of our classes, the School of Drama does not have an open door policy on visiting students attending classes. We will have classes available during Sleeping Bag Weekends for students interested in attending Carnegie Mellon University. Students and their families interested in visiting classes on Sleeping Bag Weekend should meet in the lobby of the Purnell Center for the Arts at 8:30 am on the Monday of each Sleeping Bag Weekend to obtain a schedule of available classes. To schedule a Sleeping Bag Weekend visit, please go to http://www.cmu.edu/admission/sbw.
